Paddle dryer

A paddle dryer machine is a type of industrial dryer used for drying powders, granules, pastes, sludges, and viscous materials. Purpose: Paddle dryers efficiently remove moisture from various materials by indirect drying, where heat is transferred to the material through contact with heated surfaces rather than direct contact with hot gases.

Special Advantages:

  • Low Running And Maintenance Cost.
  • Compact Construction Less Floor Area
  • Complete Product Discharge
  • High Thermal Efficiency & Completely Closed System.
  • Efficient Drying Of Sludge And Paste Through Direct Contact.
  • Minimum Exhaust Air Quality No Elaborate Air Cleaning Equipment Needed.
  • Special Paddle Form Ploughing And Self-cleaning Action.

IN THE OPERATION OF A PADDLE DRYER:

Initially, the wet material is introduced through a designated feed inlet, facilitating its entry into the paddle dryer. Once inside, the material is carefully spread along the length of the vessel, ensuring even distribution throughout. As the central shaft begins to rotate, its paddles or blades stir the material continuously, preventing any possibility of adhesion to the walls of the dryer and thus ensuring uniform drying. Heat, a critical component of the drying process, is introduced either directly through the vessel walls or indirectly via external heat sources such as steam, hot water, thermal oil, or gas-fired burners. As the material traverses through the dryer, it comes into contact with both the heated vessel surface and the agitating paddles. This contact promotes the evaporation of moisture from the material, gradually reducing its moisture content. Once the material attains the desired moisture content, it proceeds towards discharge outlet, positioned at the opposite end of the feed inlet. At this stage, the dried material is ready for extraction from the dryer.
